3-02-19 - THIS BRONZE IS WORTH MORE THAN GOLD: AN ALLEN IVERSON ART SHOW @ 51st STREET SPEAKEASY3/7/2019 When: Saturday March 2nd at 7:00pm Where: The 51st Street Speakeasy, 1114 NW 51st St, Oklahoma City, OK 73118 Price: $5.00 Suggested Donation at the Door "This Bronze is Worth More Than Gold: An Art Show for Allen Iverson and All Champions without Rings" is the tenth multimedia art show in our series. The show takes inspiration from USA Basketball's 2004 Olympic run, where Allen Iverson and company played valiantly but ultimately failed in capturing a gold medal. That being said, this entire art show is actually dedicated to underappreciated talent in all fields. We're looking to highlight overlooked greatness. This includes athletes who never won rings, directors who never won Oscars, presidential candidates that came up short and whatever else our this city's talented artists can come up with. EXTRA ACTIVITIES (Music/Food/Games) With all of our shows, we always plan extra side shows around the gallery, inside the bar. This time is no different. We're booking music as we speak. Visit this event page for updates on who will be performing this evening. As for food, we're cooking up the best Philly Cheese Steaks this state has ever seen. For gamers, you might see an old-school throwback NBA 2K tournament. For film lovers, VHSANDCHILL will be presenting underdog sports flicks! FOR ART LOVERS The show is FREE, but there will be a $5 suggested donation at the door that goes to support performers and organizers if you want to help out. This donation simply keeps everyone in good shape and helps us put on more shows. Like previous shows, $10 from every art sale will go to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. The rest goes to the artist. Please bring cash the night of the show. The Speakeasy is 21+ venue, so unfortunately, if you're under 21 you won't be able to attend. Updated: Pics Added

Allen Iverson is probably one of the best players who have ever played the game of basketball. I mean, I could probably argue that he is the best pound for pound player ever. Iverson was a short player, but that did not hinder his career. Aside from having legendary handles, Allen Iverson also had the ability to finish at the rim. He was an offensive threat that left the opposing team's defensive players stunned with his moves and skills.
