VHSANDCHILL OKC started in my garage in 2016. These shows grew and grew until I was doing them at various bars and venues across Oklahoma City. Over the last 10 years we have gotten into all kinds of fun movie shenanigans. Some say all good things come to an end, and it's time for me to move on to other things. VHSANDCHILL OKC will still be here but just not like it has been. I'll continue to host event screenings at The Oklahoma Film Exchange, and I'll probably be popping up with booths and fun things here and there. So, I'm not going anywhere, just getting into new shenanigans.
This is it. This is the FINAL VHSANDCHILL OKC screening. How perfect it is to end it with the film that started it all? While VHSANDCHILL began in my garage in 2016, my very first public screening was an event called 'AN EVENING WITH JEFF' at the old IAO Gallery right there on Film Row on August 26th, 2017. We screened one of my favorite movies of all time - 1984's THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANAZI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION and this is how we will be closing out 10 years of screenings, tape swaps, and other movie shenanigans. So please come out and spend an evening with me as I say FAREWELL to VHSANDCHILL OKC.
This film is a lost treasure and an absolute gem that I've revisited time and again through the years. The plot is described as a film that centers upon the efforts of the polymath Dr. Buckaroo Banzai, a physicist, neurosurgeon, test pilot, and rock star, to save the world by defeating a band of inter-dimensional aliens called Red Lectroids from Planet 10. That...does not really prepare you for what you're going to see. It really has to be seen to be believed. Starring an absolute stacked cast including: Peter Weller, Ellen Barkin, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum, and Christopher Lloyd. Even the supporting cast includes Lewis Smith, Rosalind Cash, Clancy Brown, Pepe Serna, Robert Ito, Vincent Schiavelli, Dan Hedaya, Matt Clark, Bill Henderson, Jonathan Banks, John Ashton, Carl Lumbly and Ronald Lacey. You will not forget this experience.

In early 2016 it all started with the dream of having an old school TV wall, the kind we all saw in our favorite 80's and 90's flicks. After a few trips to some local thrifts stores, I had more than enough old TVs and VCRs. It was about this time I came into a collection of a few thousand VHS tapes and not long after VHSANDCHILL nights were born. Every month or so we started showings of classic 80's and 90's movies. As these showings became more popular we began doing some theme showings and marathons. We enjoy watching these showings bring in people from every age group and all walks of life. VHS is dead. Long live VHS!
